Following a public hearing on the Lexington Public School District 2020-21 budget the Lexington School Board gave approval for an $11.68 million tax call. In a related motion the board set the 2020-21 levy at $1.05 per $100 of assessed valuation, which is the same as last year.
Superintendent John Hakonson noted valuations decreased by about one percent from 2019-20, so the general fund tax request will decrease about $72,000. However, general fund state aid increased by about 7.6 percent from 2019-20 to 2020-21 so overall receipts for the district are slightly up.
