Cozad Graduate:

Marilyn Jean Davis passed away Saturday, June 15th, in Wesleco, TX at the age of 78.

She was born April 24th, 1941, in Creighton, NE. She was the daughter of Harold and Loretta (Noah) Seaman.

Jean completed elementary school in Creighton and then moved to Cozad which became her home. She graduated from Cozad High School in 1959.

On July 4th, 1959, Jean married Douglas Davis. Their union was blessed with three children: Randy, Janell and Pam. She passed a few weeks shy of their 60th wedding anniversary.

Jean worked as a bookkeeper for many years for Standard Feed Service as well as being a homemaker. Jean and Doug moved to Wesleco, Texas in 2007. They reside in a lovely retirement village and have made many new friends who have become family.

Jean loved dancing to any kind of music. She and Doug danced a couple of times a week with friends. She enjoyed playing cards, board games and traveling. Jean never knew a stranger.

Jean was preceded in death by her parents, her brothers Larry and Gerald Seaman, and their infant son, Wesley. Jean is survived by her husband Douglas Davis and children: Randy Davis of Wesleco, TX; Janell and husband Rob Castle of Marshall, MO; Pam and husband Rick Ripperger of Hastings, NE. She had six grandchildren: Cora (Davis) Jacobs, Cati Davis, Sara (Castle) Klug, Michael Castle, Tyler Ripperger, and Kelsey Ripperger. Jean had one great-grandson Charles Jacobs.

A small gathering of family and friends will be held on Wednesday, June 19th, at the Siesta Village Community Center at 2:00 p.m. Family will also have a gathering in Cozad, NE on September 8th. Details to follow.
