Thursday, October 18, 2018

The Lexington City Council had a short meeting Oct. 9 with only one agenda item beyond claims and bills.
City Manager Joe Pepplitsch presented a change order for the Kirkpatrick Memorial Park Lake project. He explained that work to repair and reshape the east shoreline near the Dawson County Museum would be added to the current project with funding for the additional work to come from the museum.
Following an update of the project the council approved the $36,994 change order request as presented.
The council also conducted a work session on Oct. 13, starting at the city council chambers at 8 a.m. to discuss a history of the electric system projects and pending conversion projects.
They also discussed possible solar projects for the community and proposed improvements to space at the Dawson County Opportunity Center.
At 10 a.m. the meeting adjourned so the council could travel to Greenwood Cemetery and reconvened there at 10:15 a.m. to discuss proposed improvements to the driveway access and drainage ditches.
