Gary L. “Jobby” Jobman, 79 of Lexington passed away Monday, June 13, 2022 at CHI Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney.

Gary was born March 24, 1943 in Gothenburg, Nebraska to Bernhard and Mabel (Ackerman) Jobman. He attended school in Gothenburg and graduated from Gothenburg High School. During his school years he was employed by the bowling alley as a pin setter, which began his long time compassion for bowling. He joined the National Guard in May of 1964 and served his country until being honorably discharged in 1970. In 1975 he was united in marriage to Leila Marshall and became a step-father to two daughters: Kimberley and Suzanne. The couple would later divorce.

In his early working days he was employed as a bread delivery man for Old Home Bread and also worked delivering milk. He later opened Mr. J’s Liquor in Cozad, worked for Monroes in Cozad and then moved to Lexington in 1996. In Lexington “Jobby” worked for Mr. Automotive and Strike And Spare Bowling before retiring in 2006.

Jobby loved helping kids with trying to master bowling, putting together puzzles, Husker Athletics, Duke Basketball, Dodgers Baseball and was a huge supporter of Lexington High School Athletics.

Jobby is survived by his daughters: Kimberley and husband David Grimes of Hastings and Suzanne and husband Del Miller of Kearney. One sister, Kay and husband David Anderson of Amherst, five grandchildren: Tristan Kasten, Hallie Kasten, Kaleb Miller, Kolten Miller and Kylee Miller, Nieces and nephews: Rita (Duane) Katt, Russell (Lisa) Anderson, Rogene (Victor) Rasmussen, and Robin (Greg) Billings, as well as many great nieces and nephews, one great-great niece, extended family and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Visitation will be held Sunday, June 26, 2022 from 3-5 p.m. at Reynolds-Love Funeral Home in Lexington.

A Funeral Service will be held Monday, June 27, 2022 11:00 a.m. at Reynolds-Love Funeral Home in Lexington with Pastor Victor Rasmussen, officiating. The family requests casual Husker gear attire.

The service will be live streamed via the Reynolds Love Facebook page. Interment with military honors will be in the Cozad Cemetery at Cozad at 2:00 p.m.

Memorials in lieu of flowers are suggested to the Lexington Youth Bowling Association.
