Dawson County Courthouse Reopening Hours Unveiled

Wednesday, June 10, 2020

As the Dawson County Courthouse prepares to reopen to the public on June 15 county commissioners have announced new hours of operation. The courthouse will open at 8:30 a.m. and close at 4:30 p.m., said Commissioner Chairman Bill Stewart.

Exceptions to those hours will be for those with early morning appointments with certain county offices and those required to report for court proceedings, noted Stewart.

“Those inside the courthouse at 4:30 p.m. will be allowed to remain to finish business with whatever office is assisting them. This just gives us time to work through lines and perform the additional cleaning that is required under COVID-19 guidelines,” he said.

Commissioners continue to encourage county residents to conduct whatever business they can via phone, email, or mail without physically coming to the courthouse. Many required forms are available online at www.dawsoncountyne.org. The drop box installed on the east (Grant Street) side of the courthouse remains in place for dropping off documents, letters or forms as well.
